BLIPS
I love reporting local news.
My experience as a multimedia journalist and bureau reporter at KWWL TV, plus my three years of experience at KOMU 8 TV as a reporter, anchor, Web editor, videographer and producer have enabled me to provide news across multiple platforms.
I have been working with video since my parents first let me commandeer the family video camera during vacations. I love shooting and editing my own stories because then I am guaranteed the story I want to tell is the story viewers will see.
I am excited about my use of Twitter, Facebook, and the Web to share news with others and am always searching for ways to improve that communication flow. I write my own Web stories to ensure that all the information I picked up while reporting is available to anyone who wants to know more.
With more than 15 years of formal voice and acting coaching, I can deliver news in front of a camera naturally, effectively and in a way that engages people.
Sources open up to me because I arrive at interviews well-prepared with questions and background knowledge and am ready to listen.
I enjoy covering anything that impacts and matters to the local community - from improved parade safety measures, following a Fourth of July tragedy to the body of a local soldier returning home from Afghanistan.
Good news coverage should approach an issue intelligently from all angles - not sensationalize it. That belief shows up in the way I report news.
I invite you to browse my CLIPS to see examples of the above and take a look at how I use MULTIMEDIA to deliver news.
One of my greatest strengths is my Creativity. I am a hard worker. I love and believe in the profession of journalism and am satisfied with nothing less than my best.
